Our Beliefs
-
We believe the Bible is the infallible Word of God and that all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness. It is final in its content and without any error in its teaching and is “living and active” ever speaking to our present circumstances.
2 Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12
-
We believe in one God who is eternal in His existence, Triune in His manifestation, being Father, Son and Holy Spirit and that He is Sovereign and Absolute in His authority.
Colossians 2:9, Deuteronomy 6:4, Ephesians 4:6
In the beginning, God created the world and all the things therein, thus manifesting the glory of his infinite power, wisdom, and goodness. By his sovereign power, he continues to sustain his creation and to fulfill his redemptive purposes.
Genesis 1:1-2, John 1:1-2, Acts 17:28, Hebrews 1:3
-
We believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God, also the incarnate form of God, and Lord of all. We believe that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, live and dwelled among men performing miracles, signs, and wonders. He also taught the disciples and left them the mantle of the Holy Spirit that they may finish the works He began over 2,000 years ago.
We also believe that Jesus willfully gave His life, died upon the cross and was resurrected in power. We believe that His all-sufficient power and atoning blood saves and cleanses us, through confession and repentance of sin, and faith in Christ Jesus. We also believe that he ascended to heaven and will one day return again for His church.
Matthew 1:18-24, John 1:1-2, Romans 10:9, Matthew 5, Luke 6:17-49, John 10:18, Acts 1:1-10
-
We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit as a result of believing in Jesus Christ. The evidence of the Holy Spirit's indwelling presence is a changed life through the expression of the fruit of the Spirit.
2 Corinthians 1:21-22, Galatians 5:22-23
We believe that a spiritual gift is given by the Holy Spirit to every believer, to be used to minister to others and thereby build up the Body of Christ.
1 Peter 4:10, Romans 12:6-8, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11
-
We believe the mission of the Church is to reach the spiritually lost for Christ, to teach with the goal of “forming Christ in them” and to mobilize believers to accomplish God’s purposes in the world.
Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 2:42-47
We believe the authentic love of Christ is to be shown to all people as the central trait of the Christian faith.
John 13:35, 1 Peter 4:8
-
The fall of mankind took place at the beginning of human history, and all individuals since have suffered these consequences and are thus in need of the saving grace of God. The salvation of mankind is, then, wholly a work of God’s grace, not the result, in whole or in part, of human works or goodness. We believe that salvation is received through the open confession in Jesus Christ and the finished work of Calvary
Genesis 3, Romans 3:9-26, Romans 5:12, Ephesians 2:4-10, Romans 10:9
-
Once we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, baptism is a way for us to publicly declare our new life in Christ. It is also a step of obedience based on God’s commands and allows us to follow the example of Jesus, who submitted himself to baptism to “fulfill all righteousness.”
Matthew 3:16-17, 28:18-20, Acts 2:41, 8:12, Romans 6:4
-
We believe in worshiping the Lord in spirit, song, dance and with the raising of our hands. We believe that we are to praise and worship Him with our whole being.
Psalm 150:1-6, John 4:24
Scripture commands believers to gather together to devote themselves to worship, prayer, teaching of the Word, observance of baptism and communion as ordinances established by Jesus Christ, fellowship, service to the body through the development and use of talents and gifts, and outreach to the world.
Acts 2:42-47, Hebrews 10:23-25, 1 Corinthians 12:12-27
-
We believe that God created marriage to be exclusively the union between one man and one woman.
Genesis 2:24
The statement of beliefs does not exhaust the extent of our beliefs. The Bible itself, as the inspired Word of God that speaks with final authority concerning truth, morality, and the proper conduct of mankind, is the sole and final source of all that we believe.
2 Timothy 3:16
